Week 50 | My Week in Pictures

Hello Again Friends!

So, after being quiet for a while, I'm back and so excited to blog more!
But before I tackle all sorts of topics I've been wanting to blog about for a while, I would like to share my week in pictures with you!
Here goes!

I kick-started my week with dinner at the Grill - well deserved!

This was serious matter - Lee found the missing spacer foot thingy for his PlayStation - you can see he was most happy about this...

I did two [5!?] of these which brought ME great joy #TST

We mixed a special bunch of flowers for Yona - who let us use her very spacious truck to transport ourselves to our new location...

I got a well-deserved Deluxe Mani at my favourite salon which is now walking distance away from home!

My Godmother, Vivienne joined in on the pampering and made it even MORE enjoyable!
Lee and I helped a friend out at her restaurant at the Maboneng Precint. You MUST visit it if you're in Jozi! Go read some more here !!!
The food pictured is my ultimate soul food - Shakshouka [find my recipe for it here]

We brought these two beautiful gals with us to the market
FLtR: Kayleigh, Me! & Tal [Lee's Sis] - they are SUCH fun!

We spent Shabbos with Lee's family as his oldest sister, Dani was leaving for Israel the next day for a month.
Pictured here: Adi & Lee playing on her iPad and spending some special time together.

I did more washing than any girl with a great mani should attempt...needless to say both the mani and I survived and I feel a whole lot more productive!

I got this new album and listenend to it WAAAAAY too much! - BUT, love it already!

We also started celebrating Chanukkah - and I know this is an unorthodox picture to post, but I appreciated it nonetheless.

And there you have it! A little bit of insight into the crazy [now more relaxed] life of Wendy.

Chat soon!

birthday celebrations

I absolutely LOVE celebrating birthdays and finding little gifts that I just know the person will love! I like to keep in mind the birthdays of those whom I love that are coming up within the next few months and keep my eyes peeled for a little something that they will truly appreciate. The problem with this is always the same...I end up so excited to see their reactions that I feel like kicking myself for buying the gift so far ahead. You just can't win!

Although commemorating others' birthdays means a lot to me and gives me great pleasure, I don't share the same sentiment when it comes to my own birthday. Lee totally disagrees with this view and made every effort to get me super excited for Sunday (yesterday) as it was my birthday on the 21st. The whole week (and weeks before that!) he badgered me for a wishlist and teased the living daylights out of me when I said "nothing" every time. Needless to say, between him and my cousin Kathryn they made pretty darn sure that I wasn't able to forget that it was my birthday.

I want to kick myself (again!) for not taking any pictures (How could I not take pictures!?!), but I was having such a good time (perhaps too good!) to even think of my phone, camera or capturing the glamorous and not-so glamorous escapades we got up to. Maybe it's better I didn't take any after all.

I had a blast of a time and it turns out it's the best birthday I've ever had regardless of my initial reservations. These two chops are absolutely completely to blame!

All-in-all, I was spoiled rotten with very thoughtful gestures, gifts and cards (I refer to Lee's card that says I fall asleep in front of the TV - #Guilty) and special time spent with people who truly matter to me. Such good times!

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly declare that Lee and I are now the same age and that I am not a grave robber anymore neither is he a cradle snatcher. I can sleep in peace at night.

Boy it took a long time to catch up!
