Monthly Collage - September/Mid October | Our Life

Hello Friends!

Spring has sprung and turned into full-on 34 degree Celsius heat. I don't know why, but somehow it feels as if the month of September has just flown past and left me in it's dust.

I was browsing one of my favourite blogs, 'All Things Simple' - by Kim McCrary again this morning and I felt so inspired to copy one of her little concepts which she calls IRL (In Real Life) where she makes a little photo collage and gives a brief explanation of each image. I think this is such a darling way of giving a quick update of what is going on in our lives. Obviously the majority of the images will be coming from my personal Instagram feed which you can follow here or as wends_t if you search users.

Anyhow, here goes! What a darling idea!

1. What a joy it was to see all the blossoms pop up just before Spring Day on the 1st September this year! 2. See Tal's prom post for the make-up I did for her prom. In addition to her make up I find myself sporting swatches of various products more often than not these days. 3. Although our apartment may be in one of the noisiest buildings in the world, we are so blessed with beautiful sunsets almost every day. 4. I know I say it often, but how much do these two look alike? Love them both so much! 5. I decided to try out some new lipsticks that have been lying in my 'to try' box in my make-up up drawer for about a month and I just loved the bright corally-pink hue that just shouts Summer! 6. Timor, my dear friend has been going for juices weekly with me (and motivating me!). I know I'm a far way off to eat more organically in my own way, but I just simply love the little health shop in the building that makes lovely, fresh and organic juices. 7. I caved and indulged in a huge bowl of mushroom Alfredo. It was so worth it! 8. This little girl had a birthday on the 9th October  and she is just such a sweet girl! We love Adi (Lee's little sister) so much! 9. A friend of ours got stuck on his way to a race because his car had broken down. We went to help them out and ended up getting to tow them in a Chev Blazer which made Lee and I unbelievably excited - American Car Love runs in our blood!

Tal's Prom | Family

Hello Friends!

There is nothing as exciting as getting ready for a big night out and to be able to be part of this when it's for someone else is just as awesome. Tal, Lee's middle sister had her prom two weeks ago and of course this presented an opportunity for playing with make-up, teasing hair and taking far too many photos.

Nonetheless Tal found a simple, but very elegant dress to wear and we discussed a make up and hair look that she wanted to couple with that. We did a trial of the make up to make sure that we could fine tune it to be just perfect and then when the big night came it turned out even more beautiful than we could have imagined. Tal is so beautiful that it was really easy to simply enhance that. Here are some photos of our trial (which I didn't Instagram at the time because it was to be a big surprise for the night) and after that some of the night of the prom itself.

Kelly's Birthday | Family

Hello Friends!

It's been a while since I last posted, but I suppose it can be seen as a blessing to be so busy living that you don't have time to blog what's happening in your life!

This post is so very overdue, but I thought to start off with it as it's a really special post.

My sister, Kelly and I are both born in Spring and what a wonderful time of year it is! Although Kelly's birthday falls in the cooler part of Spring, it was still a lovely warm evening when we celebrated just before she went away on a weekend holiday with some friends.

With Kelly and I never really having been given the opportunity to be close as children and to grow up together, it's still quite a novelty to get to know each other. That said, as I learn more about her, I realize that my sister is such a stellar, unique individual. She has such wonderful qualities - compassion, humility and selflessness being only a few of the many.

Anyway, here are some random pictures I took in between all the yummy food and the awesome conversation.

Kelly & Mauro also known as (Bacalhau fish and Trinchado)

Kels and Aunty Char

Aren't these ladies just so much fun? What sports they were for photos!

Kelly and her Dad, Uncle Len.

A toast to Kelly from her Mom.

Miss Madam blowing her candles out - don't these cupcakes look amazingly yum!?
Lee and Kels posing for a quick photo.

Sisters forever! :)

A great night was had and we hope that the life year ahead is an amazing one for you Kels!
